Keys to Maintaining a Healthy Spine
Being aware of our movement patterns is essential to maintaining proper spinal health.
Here are 3 quick and easy tips to help your spine stay healthy:
1. When seated: keep your low back supported. Make sure your back is arched inward toward your belly and not outward against the chair.
2. When standing: is stress causing you to hold both shoulders up toward your ears? If so, take five full deep breaths. This will help relieve stress. Now drop your shoulders while keeping them pulled back.
3. When sleeping on your back: place a pillow under your knees. If you sleep on your side, place a pillow between your knees. NEVER sleep on your stomach.
